Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials within our warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations and demonstrate the ability to operate various equipment safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage stock levels.
- Utilize order pickers and forklifts to retrieve and transport materials as needed.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate cranes for the movement of large or heavy items within the facility.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse distribution processes.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any mechanical issues.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating warehouse management systems for inventory tracking.
- Experience with order picking techniques and equipment such as order pickers and forklifts.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including cranes, is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team.
