Restaurant Server Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe restaurant server works under the direction of the Food & Beverage Director. His or her primary responsibilities include selling and serving food and drinks in a professional manner and providing exceptional service to guests.Primary ResponsibilitiesServe 3 – 4 tables, as determined by management.Complete knowledge of hotel’s food and beverage preparation.Able to use a computer to ring orders on a check.Able to interact with guests in a friendly/fast manner.Able to accept different types of payment and make change.Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant.Clear and reset tables.Check identification of guests to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age.If consuming alcoholic beverages, observe guests behavior, and monitor alcoholic consumption.Treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed guests’ expectations.Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.Other duties as assignedEducation/ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED preferredMinimum of 6 months server experience preferredExperience in hospitality preferredPossess basic math skills and cash-handlingLicenses, certifications – applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card or ability to obtain as neededPhysical RequirementsWalking and standing throughout shiftFrequent walking with some standing at timesFrequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbsAble to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedlyReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
