Technoworld PLC is a leading computer hardware reseller in the UK and fulfills orders to throughout the UK from its warehouse in Colindale North West London.
With our continued growth we need an experienced Warehouse Operative to manage all aspects of the movement of goods in and out of the warehouse.
Job Purpose:
Manage the warehouse efficiently and within legislative and Health & Safety requirements. Deliver operations within pre-determined cost and ensure all service and quality levels are met.
The Role
- Efficient management of goods in and warehousing
- Moving pallets using trolley jack and carrying boxes and moving stock by hand will be required
- Efficient management of goods out
- Using a PC to create shipping labels for each shipment.
- Managing all warehouse operations including labour and productivity,
- Creating and implementing Health and Safety standard across all parts of the warehouse operation
- Work closely with the Customer Services Department (CSD) advising of progress against order packing and order dispatch due dates to ensure excellent customer service levels are met.
- Take ownership of packaging standards, pick and pack orders.
- Communicate the business needs and requirements through the management and supervisory structure
- Keeping paperwork up to date
- Cleaning work areas
- Hours are 9am to 6pm with 1 hour lunch break.Mon to Friday
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Pick & Pack rates
- Inventory accuracy
- Absenteeism levels
- Warehouse efficiency levels
- Responsible for the management and development of the Warehousing and Distribution functions
- Maintain inventory accuracy levels and responsibility for annual stock take
The ideal candidate:
- An experienced warehouse operative with a proven track record of working with operations and commercial functions, preferably with an online retailer – at least 1 year experience as a warehouse operative in a relevant/similar operation
- Excellent communications skills
- Experience creating, managing and measuring KPIs
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and make continual improvements to the service we offer.
- It is essential that you are a driven, resilient individual who can work well under pressure
- Good general IT skills.
- A first aid certificate and health and safety training would be desirable.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when required
The salary offered will be dependent on experience and is negotiable. A possible package may include a bonus for performance against set KPIs. 28 days holiday (includes bank holidays).
