Location: Bedford
Contract: Fixed-term June → September 2025
Pay: £12.50 – £14.50 per hour + overtime
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00 (extra evening/Saturday shifts available)

Welch Group has stored and shipped everything from precision pumps to festival staging since 1934. Our Bedford site adds 40,000 ft² of ambient warehousing to the network and goes into overdrive each summer for seasonal retailers and events.
Why this role matters
Peak season can make—or break—customer supply chains. You’ll join our surge crew that keeps pallets moving, orders accurately picked, and delivery targets nailed during the busiest three months of the year.
What you’ll do
- Pick, pack and pallet-build goods using RF scanners
- Load/unload trailers with PPT or (if licensed) counterbalance forklift
- Wrap, label and stage outbound freight for same-day departure
- Keep stock locations tidy and data in our WMS bang-on accurate
- Follow all H&S and manual-handling rules—team safety over everything
- Pitch in with depot projects (racking moves, stock counts)
The skills & attitude you’ll bring
- Solid work rate and eye for detail—mis-picks cost time and money
- Fit to handle boxes up to 25 kg with safe technique
- Basic numeracy and able to use a handheld scanner (training provided)
- Team player who’s reliable and on time—especially when the heat’s on
- Fork-lift licence a plus, but we’ll train and certify the right people
