Job title: BG picker & packer
Division: Wholesale
Department: Operations
Position: Full time, permanent
Reports to: Nightshift Fulfilment Manager
Place of work: Units Q9, Q12, Q13 & Q14, Billingsgate Market, Trafalgar Way, London E14 5ST
Working Pattern: days & times TBC: 9-hour shift with a 1hr paid break
Purpose of role
Wright Brothers is one of the Uk’s leading Seafood wholesale suppliers and it is important that we maintain our customer promise, high service & quality levels at all times.
The BG picker & Packer is responsible for helping prepare, pick & pack orders for despatch to ensure that we send the correct products to our customers. Ensure that stock is stored correctly, our stock levels are correct and depot is in good order.
Key Responsibilities of the role
· Ensure the correct product, quantity is picked and packed as per the customer order and specifications.
· Check the quality and best before dates are acceptable
· Ensure that all paperwork is correctly completed.
· Ensure the boxes are clearly and correctly labelled
· Palletise and prepare the sales orders for loading
· Help across all our picking and packing areas – fish, Shellfish,Oysters,Deli & freezers
· Report any H&S and food safety concerns to a manager immediately.
· Work with and support other departments and managers as part of the WB team.
· Help with stock control, rotation and daily/monthly stock checks
· Ensure that the depot is clean, debris free and organised at the end of the shift
· Ensure that there is adequate handover to the next shift.
· Attend team and company meetings as required.
§ All operational areas comply with health and safety regulations.
§ The correct PPE must be worn at all times this will be provided by the company.
§ Only staff licenced to drive the forklift can do so.
§ Health and safety records are kept up to date.
· All necessary paperwork is completed from a food safety perspective, i.e., temperature checks, packaging reviewed, traceability procedure followed, batch dates included where applicable.
· The correct Food safety PPE must be work worn this will be provided by the company..
· Ensure that all products are rotated in a FIFO stock rotation system.
· Roles requires obtaining Food safety level 2 this will be provided by the company.
· Ensure that any use by and out of date products are removed from sale, placed in quarantine location immediately.
As with all roles, at times due to business needs there may be a requirement for some flexibility of start /finish times and other jobs that need to be done.
Key skills for the role
· Experienced of working in a chilled & frozen environment
· Good understanding of food production, warehouse & transport environments.
· Ability to work with Fresh fish / food products
· Good numerical skills and attention to detail
· Good people skills to work with the WB team
· Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements
· High levels of personal hygiene

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
