Description
We are seeking a skilled Front-End Web Developer to support the City of Fremont’s digital initiatives, specifically assessing and utilizing the Developer Tool Kit (DTK) within the Granicus CMS. This role will focus on improving the structure, accessibility, and user experience of Fremont.gov through custom microsites and dynamic content filtering tools.
- Assess the capabilities of the Granicus Developer Tool Kit (DTK) to determine feasibility for building custom microsites.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to recommend and plan future projects based on DTK assessment findings.
- Develop custom tools on Fremont.gov to enhance content sorting, filtering, and discoverability using the DTK.
- Create and maintain accessible website structures that adhere to modern design and development standards.
- Ensure all digital components meet WCAG 2.2 or Section 508 accessibility compliance standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with CMS platforms (preferably Granicus).
- Strong front-end development skills using HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Experience implementing accessible web components that meet WCAG 2.2 or Section 508 guidelines.
- Familiarity with responsive and mobile-first design principles.
- Ability to assess technical toolkits and articulate benefits, limitations, and use cases.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams.
